Is Basketball Important?

See what I don't get is that football can have an lockout, and its season continues. But when basketball has an lockout its season come to an end. I think that basketball is equally as important as football is. It should at least have a season but just a shorter one like 52 games or something like that. See basketball may be longer as if the sheulded games but football is more dangerous so why didn't they cancel their season. Maybe we'll never know way they cancelled the NBA season. Just know to me that basketball is more important.
